Is Donald Trump a Serious Contender for 2012?

As a Huckabee fan, I'm not exactly sure what to think of Donald Trump's sudden appearance on the scene. I don't dislike Trump, I think he's got some great qualities and definitely has the potential to make for a serious contender. But the question that I have is "does he have what it takes?"

All the indications that are forthcoming seem to indicate that he certainly does. He's been going after Obama on some tough issues that no one else is willing to go after Obama on. Donald has also been a very effective communicator and works well with the media. He has tons of TV experience and is by no means camera shy.

Donald also represents a rather large portion of America. He represents the American dream and he understands what it takes to run a business. He knows what it means to hire people and also to fire people.

My opinion of Trump will be formed over the next couple of months. So far he seems definitely be a serious contender for the White House. Republicans seem to like him a lot and now he's even said that he'd run even if he had to form a third party ticket. Those are not words that republicans should take lightly if they have any plans to take back the White House in 2012. What do you think? Is the Donald a serious contender for the presidency in 2012? Be sure to vote in the poll over on the right.

I have also made a post on my blog, www.huckforpres2012.wordpress.com, about Trump potentially running for the White House in 2012. You can head over there to get my full thoughts on the issue, but in a nutshell this is what I think...

While I do respect Trump for what he has accomplished, and I do applaud him for his efforts in trying to uncover the truth about whether or not Obama is a natural born US citizen, I do not think that he will be a serious contender for the presidency.

Sure, he is very succesful, well liked, and would have many supporters if he were to run, but when it comes right down to it, I just don't think that President Trump will ever happen.

thanks for your response! Trump does seem to have some potential, but you're right, don't think it's going to happen.

Donald Trump is a Democrat's favorite sugar daddy?

Trump recently donated $50.000 to Democrat Rahm Emanuel's Mayoral campaign.

For those of you that may have supported Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle's race against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), you may want to take note that Reid has received the fourth-largest amount of Trump's contributions, including $4,800 in Reid's successful 2010 campaign against Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle. In total Trump has contributed $10,400 to Reid.

Of the nearly $420,000 Trump has donated to committees, the largest recipient has been the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee with $116,000 -- or more than one fourth of his total contributions to all party and political action committees.

Thanks for your comments, it will be interesting to see what becomes of Donald Trump's campaign. Any good businessman contributes money to any influential politicians if they feel it is a good investment. Some pretty knowledgeable people I know think Trump is doing this just for the publicity and won't actually run when it comes down to it.
